Girard (BB) Can’t Hold Up Against Champion (BB)
Thursday was a long day for Girard (BB), as it fell to Champion (BB) 5-2.
Champion (BB) took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth there was an error, scoring one run, Tyler O’Dell walked Kyle Forrest to drive in a run, and Aaron Williams singled off of Shawn Leasure, driving in one run.
Williams earned the win for Champion (BB). He pitched five innings, allowing two runs, six hits, and striking out seven. Andrew Russell recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Champion (BB). O’Dell took the loss for Girard (BB). He tossed three and a third innings, surrendering three runs, five hits, and striking out two.
Girard (BB) had six hits in the game. Nick Malito and Austin Claussell each collected multiple hits for Girard (BB). Claussell and Malito each managed two hits to lead Girard (BB)
